Question about nokia bluetooth headset/headphones: can they be used with phones other than nokias?

My phone supports the a2dp profile, so I want to know if nokia headsets will work with my the bluetooth on my phone.
My boyfriend plays the Call of Duty game on our PS3.. He just got a wireless bluetooth headset to use while playing the game and now I can’t hear the other players talking on their headsets. Their talking only comes through his headset. Is there a way to change the settings so that we can hear the other players on both the tv and headset?
I really want a bluetooth headset for my ps3. I would use it for call of duty 4 and grand theft auto 4. I just want to know what kind of headsets you guys use and tell me what you think of them.

I’m looking for something a little less in price. The jawbone headset i think is 0 or a bit more and the Apple Bluetooth is 0. Does anyone know if there is a Bluetooth that will work with my iPhone, I see everyone getting a good deal with their headsets for like 50, 60 even bucks… Please help! Thanks!
I already have a wired headset. Is it worth buying a Bluetooth headset instead? I don’t care about the wire, but I would ideally like a better microphone and better sound quality. Any particular headsets you would recommend?
